cats do not taste sweet. i have researched a little about this. i have seven cats. one cat loves the cream out of Twinkies or cream hornes, but its the dairy he likes not the sugar. my other cat likes donuts I'm not sure what that's all about. all the experts say taste buds for sweet are on the tip of the tongue and cats have none. but really, until we become a cat and eat a cookie how would anyone REALLY know!!!!!!!

It is quite unusual for cats to eat things like candy, cookies, cakes and the like. However, they do like sweets. The adore ice cream, and love the taste of whipped cream, or vanilla frosting.
All cats are different and have different tastes. I have had cats that liked all kinds of weird foods, spaghetti, veggies, chips, potato's, donuts and various other things. And I have had some cats that would not touch human food.
They taste everything they eat, just like you and I do. The difference is our tastes in food, to a degree. They like good tasting things just like we do.
Once we had a cat that was very thin and we wanted him to gain weight, and our vet told us we could feed him human food if that is what he wanted. If a cat could not taste, how would he know what to eat?

No. Their tongues lack the taste buds to process sweet tastes.

Not sure but mine likes potatoe chips, and loves hot french fries! Weird but we like to "treat" her once in a while for tolerating the children!
