The drugs most often given are ivermectin, thiabendazole (Mintezol), and albendazole. Ivermectin is generally preferred because it has fewer side effects than thiabendazole. These drugs, which are taken by mouth over a period of two to seven days, work by preventing the development of eggs and new larvae.

Anti-pinworm drugs such as Albenza (albendazole) or Vermox (mebendazole) are commonly used to treat pinworms. It is not a necessity to visit a doctor to prescribe these drugs, as they are commonly available as over the counter medications in chemists; ask a pharmacist for medicines to treat pinworms (or threadworms as they are known in the UK). These medicines kill the pinworms 95% of the time, but do not kill the eggs. The person being treated may have to return after a time of two weeks to be retreated. Another precaution towards treating the eradication of pinworms is to wash hands before eating (to prevent any pinworm eggs under fingernails from being ingested) and to wash any area or clothes that have touched or been in the vicinity of the infected areas.

The key to treatment is cutting the nails short, and attention to regular washing, with scrubbing of finger nails. The life span of the worms is about six weeks, so if reinfection can be prevented, this alone could clear the infection.

Garlic might help. I know my mom used to gives us garlic so we don`t get `em. There is a tablet its called Mega Garlic Plus, but I`m not sure if this will help with them. I will also try Herbal Aloe drink it soothes the digestive system and supports helthy digestion and elimination. It contains aloe`s natural enzymes, vitamins, minerals and amino acids to promote healthy digestion. Soothes and cleanses the digestive tract. It has a pleasant, citrusy flavor. It might work for him, I would try it. I gave this to my doughter when she was 4 months because she has really bad stomach cramps, soo its good for children too. This is the website you can find it on. www.beaturlbs-mall.com write me back if you have any questions

Don't be embarassed, this is very common.
This site may help you, but I strongly suggest you go to his pediatrician. The drug mebendazole is metioned.
Scroll down to treatment.

Keep his fingernails and toenails short and clean (I know, kids like to get dirty, but do your best). And in general keep him as clean as possible, wash his hands and feet periodically.
I hope it clears up soon!
