This is a question that has been debated about for so long. I believe it is a sin because the act of sex is more of a mental thing than physical. The act of masterbation relies so much on the mind and God says that our thoughts should be pure. Self gratification is still gratification and outside of marriage, any sexual gratification is a sin (fornication). Married people who masterbate are thought to be cheating on their spouse! It's really an interesting topic.

Masturbation is not a sin. It is very normal way of reliefing yourself of the urge. Everybody does it, everybody has. Even priest and even the pope (he was once young too). If anybody tells you it is bad they are just trying to patronise you.

There is no specific Scripture on masturbation, but I can say that if you are preferring sex above God's Will for you then you are sinning, by violating the First Commandment.

no, mastUrbaTION is not a sin, it's a human instinct. Even small children sometimes masturbate, though they have no idea what they're doing or why it feels good. It also doesn't cause any of those ridiculous medical rumors (acne, hairy palms, making you go blind, etc.)

i really don't know what religion is telling about it.
but my opinion is that its better then ,sex with other and rape.they r sin.but if some one have feeling like that what he have to do?so he can not do wrong.so i think so its better.
