Personally, I think the rude and over enthusiastic atheists are much worse. Downright nasty and insulting, when they really don't have to be. I don't understand that at all. If you don't like Christians, you don't have to talk to them.
After all, the very worst thing they can do about it is to pray for you.....

People feel personally convicted when they are faced with Christianity. They know the truth deep down inside but don't want to turn from their wicked ways. Their flesh becomes instantly defensive and thus the backlash on the messengers.
However, there ARE some rude and over enthusiastic Christians. There are also rude and over enthusiastic Muslims, Atheists, etc.

There are two main reasons for the comments you make. One of them has to do with carnal Christians who actually are rude and who don't demonstrate the love of God in their posts. The other reason has to do with people who are offended by people who believe that God's word as contained in the Bible is our ultimate source of inerrant truth and so when a person takes the time to show that their answer doesn't just come from their own heads or some scientific theory other people get offended because they don't know God and they don't want to consider the fact that one day they will have to give an account of the choices they made to the Creator of all things.

I never knew that many people were talking about 'over-enthusiastic' Christians?
Some Chirstians in the far-right of the middle, are pushing their agenda through the courts. (And that is pretty scary, in a democracy that shouts separation from church and state)
aka President Bush and his cronies. They're slick and devious.
But in all fairness to Christians (I am one) is that the final verse of Matthew encourages us to go out and share the Gospel with the world and make saints. It's just too bad some take that to the local, state, and federal level and turn it into legislation.

Two wrongs don't make a right.
added later: okay, apparently this needs a little clarification. My point is that observing that there are people from other religions who are "obsessive" (as you did) doesn't justify that same behavior for christians. It's annoying from anyone, christian or otherwise. Is that more clear?

When you have a deep love for God, and you follow his teachings, it becomes a burning desire to please him.
I am happy he has accepted me as a worker.
There were several Prophets who had the same emotional make up, and he was pleased with them and said so.
Unfortunately I have cancer and my days are numbered.
