I have recently seen one of the more intelligent posters make a statement that they don't believe in God because they don't think he is a man in the sky with a beard throwing fire balls. I also don't beleive that ,but, I do beleive in God. If I believe in God as all living things that has no constant form is it still believing in God or should I find another word for what I believe in? If so who gets to pick that word? I have used the terms All That Is, Conscious Energy, Source. Are these all wrong? Please enlighten me.

2. that poster is perhaps using the word atheist in reference to not believing in the judeo christian god and hasn't had his morning cup of coffee but instead has to chase the 3 year old around to get a fresh diaper on

3. all that is is reminding me of "i am who i am" moses talk

4. source - matrix

5. conscious energy - i believe in this myself, the "hologram" idea fits in nicely here

Hmm... I believe in God but I dont think of him as being gray bearded and throwing fireballs I'm sure thats some guy from a video game....God said of himself I am that I am....God is the creator of all that there is. He is omnipotent...Here is a great description of God John 1..............1 IN the beginning•was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

I agree with you that God is no old man with a beard floating around in the sky in some physical place called Heaven.

God is the eternal energy force called life. God is the source creator. (Whether you believe in evolution or creationism, which have never been proven to be mutually exclusive of each other).

God can take any form God wishes, but is a genderless energy force. As for Heaven, this is the expansion of our limited human consciousness, reached after our present physical human incarnation is done and we have "died". (Not really possible because we are all eternal spirits, and will return to the source creator).

God does not care what you call God. Just call God. God is love, God is life. God is not a judge who punishes us. That is ascribing human traits to God, which is impossible. That is trying to identify with and bring God down to our level. God is far, far beyond our limited human consciousness.

god the word is many things to many people some like to think in human equivalents and picture god as charlton heston with a beard, if this symbol satisfies theyre spiritual needs then all well and good, however as we move through time we are learning to accept that god encompasses more than can be comprehended by the human mind. I like to think of the positive energy and light source within the vacum of space. without this there would be no life. and knowledge would not evolve.

Most modern conceptions of a monotheistic God are of a supernatural entity with human qualities. The only reason such an entity is portrayed as an elderly white man is because that is easier to imagine than him being a tomato.
But if the God that you believe in is only a metaphysical idea of omnipresence, as you stated, then it is probably misleading to label it with the same term as the monotheistic God. Your belief appears to be in more of a Force or Nature.

God is not a person, neither in stone nor in any object. God is just a type of feeling as there is sadness, happiness, jealousy, etc.
For an example assume that there is person who is damn looser, he has lost every thing. No one is there to support him, help him. He is shedding his tear for all so.
But suddenly he feels that he should stand by himself hoping no one to help him. To try to explore the thing he has, in fact of shedding tears for those he lost. This is where the god comes in pitcher. Yes, the man himself is the god.
Till current day all holy books says that god was the one who created the world from zero. This person saw a ray of hope which aroused from him.
IN SIMPLE WORD GOD IS JUST AN ASSUMABLE ICON.
You may assume him in whatever way you so that when everyone goes you may not say that I’m left with nothing, but an imaginary friend.

A) The concept of God as an old man was merely a symbol to give illiterate people a visual to remind them that God is Wisdom Eternal. Those who choose to turn from Him use that symbol to denigrate that which they are afraid to embrace, ie faith. It ain't for sissies, ya know.

B) God gave Moses His proper name. He said, "I AM that I AM. You will tell them that I AM hath sent thee." Since Hebrew does not include vowels in its written form, there's no knowing the exact way to pronounce His Name, but traditionally we go for Yahweh, from the four letters they DO use; YHWH, also known as the Tetragrammaton,(which means 4 letters. Real informative, huh?). Used with respect, I see no problem with your speaking to and about Him using the Name He Himself gave us. Or a derivative thereof, like Jehovah.

C) Jesus called Him, in Aramaic, ABBA. Neither Greek nor Latin had a word that exactly translated to the Aramaic meaning. They made do with words we translate as "Father". But English DOES have a word that is an EXACT translation........DADDY. THIS is what Christ calls Almighty God. This is what He tells US to call Him when we speak to Him. NOT Our Father, but our DADDY. Think about the differences. Father.....any male with enough sperm and a nearby fertile female can be a father. No great shucks, just biology. But to be a Daddy, now THAT requires a commitment; permanent, enduring, unending and based on love.
So why not call Him Daddy? I do, but then I've always been Daddy's little girl.

No, God is not a man with a long grey beard who throws fireballs. That would be Zues. Maybe someone fell asleep in front of the TV set while the Disney version of "Hercules" was playing......

A lot of scientist believes in a God that is pure energy or matter. Even Einstein believed in God. There is some New-Age Religions that recognises this belief too. You have to understand that a lot of the ancient religions used symbolism to explain different forces in the universe. They gave names to "Gods" and characters to explain different phenomena’s.

What do u mean by "LIVING THINGS THAT HAS NO CONSTANT FORM"?.

All things (living or not) have NO constant form. Because everything changes every instant, there is NOTHING constant.

Conscious (ness) is in the mind. Enery source - Sun. However, to be enlightned one needs an open mind, faith and belief are personal and not to be argued!!!

Sounds very close to the religion (can't think of their name right now) but its beliefs are actually the basis of "Star Wars" .
They really do believe in "the force".

Only thing is, as a Christian, I believe God has form, because He says in His Word..."God created man in His own image..." and "..the finger of God", and "...the hand of God", etc.
