Near Jerusalem, there was a place called the valley of Hinnom, a place originally of human sacrifice. It was later converted to a landfill, which was terribly unsanitary and had to be burned on occasion.
Considering the amount of garbage there, these burnings would take weeks or months. The visuals of these ceaseless fires, along with the smell and the garbage, lead many early Christians to say that the damned would be burnt in the valley, just like the garbage was.
This is where the fires of Hell originated and the visuals have stayed with us.

Dante's is a view of what he thought hell would be.Hell is spoken of in the Bible so it was not Dante's creation.Hell is the complete separation from God.

The Bible talks of it years before those two and infact those two read iit from the Bible and may not be as lucky as you who may actually experience the place and become a believer.

Good points. I have known them for years, but you cannot educate the world. I have been trying for quite a while.
May I offer you an interesting website to carefully examine? I think you will find similar thinking here.
