I know everybody does it on the lips. But, it seems like, if we waited for five years to get married and to live together and make love, then it's just stupid to kiss her on the lips the minute we signed that piece of paper. I would rather kiss her on the cheeks as a sign of affection. Society is so hypocritical. It like, if you're not married, don't even think of sex and/or other thing. But, the minute you're married, they practicly make you do it right in front of them. That's stupid! Therefore... A kiss on the cheek works for me. What do you think?

I don't care what's appropriate and what's not. I definitely don't want to be a slave to the rules of society. As I said, it's hypocritical and therefore I dissmiss it.

it's "you MAY now kiss the bride" not "you MUST now kiss the bride"
The point is that you've waited so long and you love her and want her so badly you just can't wait another second. Don't be nervous about it. If you are passionate about her it will all come naturally! Don't you WANT to kiss her on the lips?

I forgot to mention that if you do decide for the cheek or forehead, PLEASE discuss it w. her 1st. You don't want to embarrass her on her wedding day in front of her friends and family. Not kissing her on the lips could come off as a sign that you don't want to.
That is all.

Its just saying you can kiss the bride. Its your first kiss as a married couple. If my husband kissed me on my cheek at our wedding, I'd have turned around and ran out the door. Noboy said you have to get naked and start banging on the floor. Its a friggin kiss. Its up to you, but I think thats kind of disgusting to only want to kiss on the cheek on your wedding day. Seems like your relationship has lost its spark.

A kiss on the lips seals the deal.
A kiss on the cheek looks as though you're sister and brother.

more romantic is a kiss on the forhead... or nose... hehe... but i understand what your saying... about kissing on the lips... but then again... a regular kiss on the lips w/ no tongue is also a sign of affection... no one ever says you have to make out in front of everyone... it is what ever you are feeling at the time...

You're kissing your wife, not your mother. It is more appropriate to kiss her on the lips, but not a tacky french kiss.

Seems like your spark with your bride is no longer lit and what does your bride have to say about this i would ask her first.
