I have taken lsd when I was younger and have to say that is very close to a way of awaking your conscious awareness, but it is temporarily and with side effects, better than lsd is "magic mushrooms". LSD can give you paranoia which is not spiritual; it is more like mental suffering or torture. Mushrooms is totally natural, it is great to go into the forest when taking mushrooms. I haven’t taken any of it in about 2 years now, so I might have a different opinion about the experience now. See, mind expanding drugs is a way of opening doors inside your mind. You can open these doors without taking any drug; it is harder, but more permanent. Try meditation, and astral projection, it beats any drug I have taken and has no negative side effects, only positive ones.

Yes, I have. Some drugs do have the effect of expanding your awareness. I don't recommend that people use drugs to open up. It can be very dangerous. If you are not ready then you can really mess up your mind and have the opposite effect and end up having a horrible scary experience. I guess it depends on the person and the environment they are in.

I agree, These drugs can give you a spiritual experience and put you in touch with god. The down side is, it only lasts for so many hours before you are slammed back down to earth- in a hard way. There are ways to find god and keep him with you without the need for drugs.

I am a recovering drug addict. I was addicted to Heroin, which is not 'mind expanding' but I have taken LSD and plenty of Marijuana, and I can tell you that both are INCREDIBLE experiences, but they will certainly NOT get you closer to God. Trust me on this one, I have done all of this TO EXCESS. You can only get close to God in your most sober, pure state. And this is coming from me: an Agnostic. -beaver (Rock Island, Illinois)

this one time i was so tweeked out I thought I saw Jesus. but it was just some guy at a rave dressed like Jesus. still scary as heck
