Religion is a problem that has haunted humankind for thousands of years.

We will not advance as a species until it has been completely expunged.

For some religion is the answers for others it is the problem. If people could follow a path to God without feeling the need to judge those not following the same path then religion wouldn't be the problem it is today. Everyone wants their version of the truth to be the one the whole world follows. Problem is no 2 people really think alike. People are causing conflict all over the world with their raging egos. Spread love and light up the world.

the latter

then again, no one can say, because humans have always believed in some religion or other

i suspect they always will

this is because religion, especially the god figure, is really helpful for morale in times of suffering

life is full of suffering, and so it is full of religion to counteract the psychological impact of the suffering

so suffering is the problem ... and you might here them saying religion is trying to stop the suffering, but that's not a good enough excuse

secular organisations and normal people can do all that too, and would do it better by not being hampered by a set of patriarchal beliefs

good question..... I would have to say it's a big problem. Religion is full of weak minded fools with a fear of anything unknown or different. Anything that requires deep thought is beyond their grasp. How could they have any answers? If there is a question that needs answered and they can't come up with a good one they will tag the ever so popular response of "god works in mysterious ways" . what a crock............

(Correct) religion promotes understanding of the nature of God, the nature of ourselves, and how we related to God and others.

Typically, adhering to a religion means we won't go to war so quickly and easily. The past "religious wars" were a violation of the religious doctrines, - not a fulfillment of those doctrines.

religion is not the cause, people are the cause.

Its like a gun does not kill people, the one who pulls the trigger kills people. This is like the ones that USE religion as an excuse for violence, religion does not in any language condone violence.

Religion is both the problem and the answer. It is a problem when it is applied wrongly or inconsistently. If used well, it is wonderful.

Real religion is the answer. We can,nt have happy life without it.Allah (God)warned in Koran that:who do not remember ME(Allah),will have a suffering life.,and will come blind in the day after.,and when he asks God:why YOU make me blind while I was seeing in my life.Allah will say: our proofs came to you and you forgot it,so you are forgotten now.

Religion, in and of itself, is not the problem. Mandkind's self-righteous mishandling of religion is th problem.
