I have a few Chinese friends that I have kept for several years. It is more difficult to have a close friendship with a Chinese person because they are conditioned by their culture to be more formal and guarded. I lived in China for almost a year. I still cannot play go very well (weiqi).

I like the way Chinese characters are constructed but it is difficult for me to remember them and they are very small. I cannot appreciate the beauty of the calligraphy that I would hang it on the wall as a person does a painting. I know how difficult it is to write with a brush though. It took longer for me to learn Chinese than to learn French. It is difficult to get used to the tones.

I like Chinese foods even the fungi and fermented things. I miss the sweets. I like some Chinese art. I like the children's palaces. I like the exercising before class and in the park. I think acupuncture may really work. Qi gong breathing is healthy.

China is way too crowded, though. I really felt claustrophobic.

i love studying Chinese. Been at if for 7 years, it's the most wonderful self-inflicted torture you could think up. I actually mean that in a good way. I have been living inTaiwan for 5 years and every single day this feels more like home than the states ever did. The people are so warm, friendly and helpful. The life is easy, the culture so unique. I got hit by a car, first the took me for x-rays, then for acupuncture. I tell you that stuff works wonders. Food is good, work is easy, cost of living is low. Why leave?

Studying anything has many advantages, and languages are no different. There are personal and professional advantages to be derived from studying them. Right now in the world Chinese is moving itself into a position to be the dominant language and cultural force for the 21st century. So it follows that learning Chinese just makes sense because it will change your life. But what, specifically, can be gained from knowing how to communicate with these people?

HOW TO STDUY CHINESE?

I point out three key method :interest, input, practice.

First, interest is the best teacher. If you want to be good at Chinese, you must bring up your interest of learning Chinese .Interest can help you fight against whit dull.Find something you like to do.For example you like to watch TV ,so you can watch some Chinese TV with your mother language caption. If you like to chatting ,you can using Chinese to chatting with Chinese throughth internet,or by other ways.

Second ,you must insist on studying. No input,no output. So you must learn some chinese character or phrase every somedays. After studying,it is better to use the character you have learn to write some chinese article ,or chatting wiht chinese. So you can not forget the character or phrase. Do not stop learn for long, and learn continue to learn .If so,it almost impossible for you to be good at Chinese. But i advise you that not to learn too more by one time of learning Chinese. If so ,you may be feel dull and then stop to learn Chinese.

Third,do not afraid to make mistake.Do not afraid make joke.Do not be too care with grammar. If you are too care with the grammar ,it will be too dull to do practice everytime ervrywhere you want to practise chinese.Remember that if you want to be good at chinese ,you must do more pratice.

The last.Creat a chinese environment as we know. The best way to learn chinese is to creat a chinese environment.Because it has more pritise chance, less dull, and you can remember what you study for long times, may be all your life.So many foreigners come to china for studying. But if you can not come to china ,you can use the internet ,or some other ways.

I hope that you can use the methods to learn chinese. So you can make greate progress by using less time.Thank you for you reading.
