It depends on what category, currently it's Taipei 101 in Taipei, Taiwan, considered the tallest & newest in many categories, other skyscrapers are still under construction and not yet to consider the newest..

well the ford ham spire in Chicago has been proposed and it will become the tallest building in the united states. but will not be the tallest in the world because the tallest building in the world is being built in dubai. which the building is going to be done by the year 2008.
