A negative attitude is a hard thing to get rid of because it is a part of you even though its just a thought. Try your hardest to find things you like about the situation and try to focus on them.

Take acid alone and concentrate on the concept of Humility, how a positive attitude can bring peace and harmony to your family, and question the validity of the negative view. You might be able to find a constructive way to express a real concern that may exist within the negative attitude.

Change the scenery. You are in a rut and a large part of that rut is your surroundings. Obviously your unhappy with who and what you are doing. So change it. If it's practical move to a whole new town. Change the friends you are hanging out with. If you have no friends make some. If you are in clubs change them, if you are not join one.

Next find a constructive activity/hobby. The SCA (society for creative anarchism) for example or take up a martial art. Maybe it's fencing or bowling or softball. Something competitive but not stressfull. Something to focus on and use that negitive energy for positive change.

There is a free exercise at the link below. It works. It's about waking up. The first Truth you see is the truth about yourself. If you can handle that, you can change. It works by a combination of free will and repentence and the sure knowing which comes from The Light.

Give it 6 months.

just do it. you're feeling overwhelmed with guilt and shame for your actions, that's natural and it's also part of growing up. having the courage to face yourself and being able to stand corrected and saying you're sorry. it's about taking responsibility for your actions and the effect they've had on others. just admitting you want and need to change is the first step to your own happiness.
