If you are not married, how would you know it?

i have been married for 4 yrs. We have been together for 12. We are total oppisites, but we're friends, and we can get alomg most of the time. I think it's when you can't wait to talk to him or her, but at times they are the only person you want to talk to, and if you're fighting they are the the person you want to talk to least.

Actually you don't know......no one does or ever will...you just take an educated guess! The problem is that as you age there is no guarantee that you will both grow together...you may well grow in different directions and that is why divorce court dockets are full!
Sound crass..no just realistic....are you the same person at 10 as you will be at 20 or 30 or 40 or 50 or .....we all change, like it or not! And needless to say we do not all change in the same ways. You marry someone at 20 who is ideal for you and you for her! Great!.....But at 40 you are not the same person...nor is she! Are you still the perfect mate for each other? Probably not!
Sad But True! So then the decision has to be made....do you "wear a shoe that doesn't fit" for the rest of your life and hope for calluses where it won't hurt as much rather than blisters that get infected? Or do you try a new pair of shoes?
Unfortunately we live in a disposable society and our spouses have become disposable also!

Take your time. One thing worst than not having what you want is having something you don't want and can not get rid of.
See a marriage counselor its worth it. Oprah had a test to take -questions you ask each other before you get married-see if you can find it and take it together-it was an eye opener. Check your library.
Sometimes sexual feelings cover a mountain of dislikes that you might not notice (sorry for being blunt)until to late-happens to many. the first months or years are like honeymoons but after their is a lot more and many issues must be faced that spoil the trip.
Married for 37 years-to high school love and we get along great still.
Its a big commitment-do it right and you will be fine. Do it because of those what appears to be loving feelings and you might hurt both of you-rather you mean to or not.
