My dad ran off when I was young, and my mom became severly ill, so neither of them raised us kids. My grandparents did. My grandmother was the brains, and grandfather was the brawn. I dont think either of them was the boss, although they both tried to be. They used to fight like cats and dogs, and it got vicious. My grandfather was a big and muscular man, and could have beat grandma to a pulp, but he didnt. He would hold her off when she went at him, and that took a lot of skill alone. She could really scrap.

Dad was boss, but easy-going. Mom got stuck with disciplining us. I guess that wasn't fair.

My dad ran the show but with mom's input. They both communicated well. Married 30 years until dad died. Never heard them say a vulgar word.

There was no 'boss'. My parents were a traditional nuclear couple in the 50's-60's, but all of it was by agreement, and each had their say in all decisions.
By chance...are you asking who was the main disciplinarian? In that case, it was STILL both for my family. BTW, was never spanked in my life, and that tradition carries on today with newer generations.

My mother and dad were equal partners. They consulted with each other on all the major things and worked together like fine machinery.

they were my boss both of them when i was young and when i grew up my parents were there for me to help me in some troubled times ! it was hard to leave home for the first time and getting on my own and if my folks were living now i would tell them how much i loved them and how i appreciated there help and support!!! both my parents were beyond fair they were wonderful and loveing!!!!
