I dated a guy for over a year and we broke up 7 yrs. ago over something my mom said she caught him doing. The next day I went to talk to him about it and find out what had really happened. I found out only 2 yrs. ago that it was my mom that had lied about it. I have been trying to fing him for quite awhile and recently found out he works offshore. I can't find any of his relatives to tell me how to get in touch. I don't expect to pick up where we left off, even though that would be nice, I need closure and I need him to know that it wasn't me that wanted to break-up. Do you have any suggestions about what I should do.

Thats a hard one. I could understand where you would need closure. You could keep trying to find someone who knows him. If not you just need to forgive yourself for not believing him a long time ago. Good Luck.

Don't contact him. Seven years have passed, wounds have health.
And he has continued living, started new relationships.
It's more imported to solve the problem with your mother.

Leave well enough alone..If you still care, or did care about him then let it rest. He is probably in a relationship and your contacting him will do nothing but cause him problems!

let it go he has moved on, you might bump into him one day and talk about it over lunch. mums can cause trouble but you decide.
