What happens if you stick your tongue out of your mouth and let it dry out? Does it puff up and get painful or anything?

As long as it's still connected to your body it will still be normal, but you will temporarily muffle your sense of taste.

Go ahead - allow your tongue to dry out and then put a little sugar on the tip of your dry tongue - you probably won't taste it at all. Saliva helps facilitate your taste buds. Without it life isn't nearly as interesting.

Any time i've tried it makes everything taste more copper and my tongue more sensitive but it is harmless as long as you're tongue is still connected
