Bangalore is a nice cosmopolitan city in the south of India. Within the city limits, there are a few places of routine tourist interest to visit. Shops and Malls, planetarium are reasonably good to visit and fun.
However around the city, you can visit on day long tours on almost all the directions. Bannerghatta National Park, Nandi Hills, Jog Falls, Shiv Ganga, Tipu Sultan's Palace, Mysore, Shravanbelagola, Belur-Halebid (Halebeedu) are a few nearby (one day trip) places worth seeing.
