Well during this season, trains tend to be delayed.. and delayed by hours at that... but I think its rather save... only thing u maybe be in for long delays...k going by car, well that would be a bit more expensive i think, and due to heavy rains, the roads might be a bit slippery, but other than that thats also a good option.....
So if u like driving, and dont mind driving for around 14 hours take ur car, if time matters and you cant afford delays and dont wanna drive, take a bus.. otherwise take a train.... GOOD LUCK

LOL been there done that train okay its so crowed on the sreets it almost im possible and train is suprisanly clean and u get food local food to great way to meet ppl and eat exotic food(p.s stay away from kava ull wake up somewhere with ur cloths on backward in the middle of city) i hope u enjoy ur trip

train journey is comfortable n interesting to see the caves u pass!! but, if u have ur own car, i'll suggest u take it! it'll be useful for occasional site-seeings there as well as on the way!! u'l b undr ur own control!

go by train you wo nt even have to drive or worry about the car it will almost cost you the same...

it is a beautiful travel either by train via the kokan railway or by roads through the ghat sections either was its a beautiful journey !!!
