I would first like to let you know that I am a white male, 35 y/o.
I grew up in the housing projects outside of Cincinnati and I have to tell you........ It wasn't easy being white!
Everybody was break'n my balls! White people looked down because I was poor white trash from the projects. Black people didn't want me around because... well, I'm white!
I am happy to have grown up where I did. It makes the life I have built for myself and my family seem that much sweeter. I bust my @ss to make sure my kids don't have to grow up like that.

Due to affirmative action, quotas, political correctness, and all the other cultural abnormalities imposed on America since the 1960s, one who is Caucasian, male, heterosexual, Protestant, is the only group which not only CAN be discriminated against, but it is socially popular to do so. In many cases the government demands it.
I suspect that your feeling of being shunned stems from the attitude you project. If you expect rejection, you invite it.
Try being very competent at what you are doing. Combine this with a pleasant attitude. And then don't care what other people think.
It will take several years, maybe 10 or 20 to achieve the above. In 40, the Spanish speaking Legislature will have put the last of the white people in America on the reservation.
So the moral of the story is: learn Spanish.

What goes around comes around. Now that whites are no longer "top of the heap" (as if we ever were), some don't like the fact that we're facing the racism that was practiced in the past.
I have lived and worked in Asia for five years, and I've seen and experienced anti-white sentiments. (The worst being everyone assumes I'm an American. How insulting.) Some westerners who come here can't deal with it, and some have the maturity to realize that what they're experiencing is what happened back home.
As they say in the movie business, "The people you meet on the way up are the same people you meet on the way down." If you want others to treat you well, then treat others well. If people still treat you badly, then you have nothing to apologize for. Don't denigrate yourself be doing what others are doing that angers you.
Personally, as an atheist who accepts the fact of evolution and human migration, I recognize the fact that there's only one race: human. I, you, and everybody else can be traced back to Africa somewhere between 500,000-1,000,000 years ago.
If anyone wants to blame someone for racism towards blacks and others, blame christian Europe from 1000-2000 CE. Go read Frank Snowden's fascinating book, "Before Color Prejudice", about how blacks were treated in ancient times versus now.

It's not easy getting through life. It's true that the average white male in this country has more things in his favor, but he has his own challenges in this society, and things to measure up to. It always comes back to the fact that we just need to take the focus off of our differences and realize that we're all just humans. If you drop us all in the ocean we'll all bob up and down the same.

Im not white, Im black and I love my race, I have been treated different and it was hard growing up and going to white schools, but I wouldnt want to be any other race. Life can be hard no matter what race you are. What race are you? If you have family and somewhere to go where youre not the outsider it will really help.

No, it sucks. Can't get a job, can't get help with college because of affirmative action. We are told all the time in school, TV, books that we are evil because of colonialism, slavery and ww2 whether you have any connection to any of them or not. You are told you never had a culture of your own and only steal from others.

No it's not easy being white, especially when white is now the minority in most places. Not cool getting your @$$ kicked by a non-white gang.

I think you are judging yourself by the colour of your skin rather than the content of your character.
