Peyote is a cactus and its scientific name is Lophophora Williamsii. Is it safe and healthy to eat it (dried buttons)? Please elaborate and list sources if possible. Thanks!

peyote is a hallucinogen. this 'type' of drug will affect people differently. i would say it is safer than say lsd and or pcp.. but still.. you may have adverse reactions to this drug. the only way to find out is to start on a low dosage.. maybe 1-2 grams. (dried) if you dont feel it within,<2 hours.. dont take more.. wait it out then dose again after 4 hours to be safe.. the stuff will hit you like a ton of bricks. be safe.. dont use a lawnmower whilst on mescaline or peyote.. you will pay dearly. ;)

Peyote? That's kids stuff, similar to flintstone vitamins. Take 4-5 buttons and go to an amusement park or any crowded area.

peyote is a very strong shamanic drug, something you do a few times in your life .it can effect you for weeks even months after .and is not to be recommend for a thirteen year old .
even stronger is amanita Muscara ,the mushroom of death .
these drugs are for teachers not students,

the peyote can vary in strength if it is dry and old the effects will be limited like a speedy rush that can last for hours .if it is fresh and you get hit good .it will blow your mind and you have to have experience and should be with a teacher to guide you through the experience ,like ahuahaska.

in pure form the active ingredient is relatively safe compared to other highs, as is LSD.
I have no further information.

Anything that gets you high is a poison, so it does have some danger attached to it.
