What do you mean "other african americans". Somalia is in Africa, not America.

As far as what race they are, they are humans, just like you and me. There is no biological validity to the concept of race. The only meaning race has is the one you give it. As such they are whatever race you wish them to be.

To those people saying "African", do you realise that Africa is a continent, not a race?

The concept of races has no real value from a biological perspective. It was formed by sort of selective sampling, picking people from widely separated areas and implying only a few distinct 'races', due basically to the archetypes being based on people who had been shipped out and viewed out of their geographical context. A closer look reveals a far more complicated picture.

As Africa is the ancestral home of humanity there is a great deal more diversity than an one or two word description can convey.

Once you look further than the skin color there's a great deal of variation from one ethnic group to the next in terms of facial bone structure and overall build. Too much to justify lumping all the variation into just one race.

Somalian is more a nationality than a race, it's a breakaway country that used to be part of Ethiopia.

As others have said, "race" isn't the best word to use here- "ethnic groups" or "tribes" are what I assume you meant.

The largest ethnic group in Somalia is called the Somali people, who are closely related to the Oromos in Ethiopia and Kenya. The Somali people are divided into clans and subclans too numerous to name.

There are also several very small ethnic minorities that live in Somalia- the Bravanese, who are thought to be of mixed Arab and Portuguese descent. (Somalia is on the coast of the Horn of Africa, an area where Arab and Persian traders set up settlements). The Benadiri and Bajuni people are of Swahili descent.

No, Somalis at the instantaneous are not blended. in accordance to the findings of a study that extremenoor printed, the eighty% are genes indigenous to the Horn of Africa. The 15% Arab ancestry may be disputed, because the signature genes of Arabs and Horn of Africans are similar. Human existence is assumed to were originated in jap Africa, especially Ethiopia or Eritrea. So all human beings can hint their origins to those human beings.
