I would think being next to a bank is good for any business as they normally have high volume of people. A restaurent for one would be a good idea as people normally would rush there during their lunch break.

when I go to a bank I'm in a hurry, I think a 7 eleven, quick store, liquor store, or a gas station is a good idea, I always see them around banks and when I'm there i would stop and get something real quick like drinks milk or anything I can think of that I need at the time.

I would go for a nice coffee shop, that would offer desserts, pasteries. Have plenty of table space for people to sit down. Something like a Starbucks.
Businessmen can sit down and work out their finances...ect. Or college students can get their loan work done there and then apply at the banks.
You get the idea. Offer current newspapers, like Wall-Street Jounal...
