I don't believe it. This is garbage. If it's true then it's an obscenity. (Not the poor child, but the fact that it's happened - if it has, which I very much doubt???) And when the human race kills itself off. Which seems increasingly imminent the poor mite will be the only one left alive, until nature takes a hand and changes the environment to something the "Dr Frankensteins" didn't take into account. You can't beat nature in the end. Instead of wanting to live forever we should be trying to care about each other (including ourselves) I realize that doesn't make money for the greedy "fat cats" though!

You know what--I am a Scientist however, when you disturb or try to 'mess with' something that is within a larger scope; one beyond ourselves; NO WAY. As a woman, an Identical twin(the natural way-no artificial insemination) and a mother. This is where I draw the line. I am proud to be a Scientist however, nothing can make me more proud to be a mother. This will take all of that away from us-- from evolution from what we have evolved from. Look, I was told at a very young age, 'You will never bare children.' Then a few years later I gave birth to a healthy baby girl who was over 9POUNDS. Sometimes I feel science shouldn't/doesn't need to intervene.

I have 2 views. First it is not natural so it shouldn't be. However the human animal by its very nature does the unnatural so that makes it "normal". We are the animal that remakes itself so let us.
Second, we should stop to consider if we should rather than if we could do this. The lifespan is an incredibly importamnt thing to us psychologically. Our inevitable demise gives us fear but also hope that life has an end and meaning,. It drives us alot. To tamper with that is to tamper with meaning. The child will have to be raised very differently to normal children if it is not to end up with a neurosis or even commiting suicide because of its condition. In that case those responsible for its creation are responsible for its self destruction. It may be a crime worse than murder where we not just take a life indirectly through blind tampering but we create a human made different and suffering.
Can you e-mail where you heard this?
Interesting!!

Do you mean never age outwardly (wrinkled skin, gray hair etc.)look like 25 when you are 70?
Or physically- The heart, lungs, digestive system etc. of a 25 year old when you are 70?
the former would be cool
the latter.....highly NOT possible...unless they can clone your organs and transplant them as you "need them" as you age inwardly.
And, does it really matter? None of this genetic enhancement can save you from dying in a car wreck at 30, or being shot dead at 26 etc.-how will they tackle diseases that don't have cures yet-some cancers, lou gehrigs disease, alzheimers etc.?

They lied to everybody not long ago about the same kind of crapola that this is. Believe what you want to, I think they are blowing smoke up the worlds butt like always.
In other words I do not believe this is the truth for a minute of a second of a day of anyones genetically enhanced day!

Where was this broadcast? I've heard nothing but am quit intrigued. So if they don't age like "us" than who do they age like?
If they are saying they simply don't age well that's not possible because aging isn't just what we humans do as we past the time but....... it's just that passing the time we can't stop time at least not that I know of.

Well, they won't know for sure until time passes, right? Anyway, if a side-effect of this turns out to be cancer or whatnot, then this isn't much of an achievement. If it does all work out, then I would say that it is OK to be jealous.

The nice things about having a disposable container is that it can be renewed, and that the used one is biodegradable.
