I was just curious, if anyone knew an answer to this... my friend is currently pregnant, and having some complications, and she was a premie, so I was curious that since she was would that make the chances greater that she may have a premature baby as well? (Serious answers only, please, don't waste my time).

Yes, it's very possible that it may increase her chances of having a premature baby. Gestation (sp?) is something that is genetic and could have been passed on. I would just tell her to take extra precausions and make sure to have regular, if not slightly more frequent, visits to her doctor! better safe than sorry!

nope being a premature baby is no result of having premature babies ur self it not something thats in the genes. but if she has complications its possible that she will have a premature baby or if she has had a premature baby before then she has more of a chance other wise no

No, there is no proven correlation between being born premature and having premature babies yourself. Many times, the reason for a premature birth is unknown.

honestly I have never heard of any predispostion of a premie to deliver prematurely--I think that has more to do with conditions surrounding the individual prenanacy than it does with any kind of ---genetics---

Sometimes things like that can be hereditary, but there are SO many advances in medicine today that preemies stand better chances than they did years ago.I'm sure everything will be O.K. Best of luck to her!

No, I don't think so. I can see your logic, but I am sure it doesn't work that way.
