It's probably the most pointless website on the internet and it's only advanatage is that we can stalk our friends and FOX can "meet" the common people. So why is it the 4th most visited English-speaking site in the world?

Just another way to show off you have friends or make friends. Its also another form of communication. People have gotten bored of email, snail mail, and instant messaging so they're trying to find new ways of communicating.

Yeesh. It's weird. Just today I was talking to some friends (in REAL LIFE, of course... as in FACE-TO-FACE... as in not myspace) and we were discussing the stupidness of myspace. As it turns out... out of our entire circles of friends (about 80-100 people... really, no joke)... we were the only 3 who didn't have a myspace. Sometimes I feel that the only people in the world that don't have myspaces are my two friends, myself, and a few ethnic Ethiopians. :-/
But I love that, anyway.
Myspace is beginning to have a very negative effect in people these days. It encourages the usage of "emo" photography, which results in actual "emo" behavior... and tends to isolate everyone to the point that they say "Don't call me on the phone. Just write to me off myspace." Many would even go so far as to prefer talking to someone off of myspace than face-to-face. Besides the iPOD being a subpar product (^ I totally agree with a past post), myspace is making people subpar, too.
What can I do...? Encourage safe myspace-sex so you don't catch an MTD (Myspace-transmitted Disease). :-(

Because young people from grade school to college have nothing better to do with their money and lives? Apparently, statistically.. iPod is more important than alcohol on college campuses this year.
Neverminding the fact that its a subpar product that costs 200+$ to replace.. gaining all your friends approval and being a socialite is nothing new. Its just annoying to the rest of us. :)
