First of all....R E L A X. As a "career" Air Force wife, we moved every couple years until the latter part of his career. The active duty member will be the one responsible for paperwork and it should be listed on a checklist given to him/her by their departing unit. This also includes the arrangement for moving your belongings. (The weight amount allowed depends on the member's rank.) Also, contact your gaining base and ask for a welcome packet if one is not forwarded to you automatically. Basically, it's not a lot different than a "civilian" move, you have to decide what to keep and get rid of and it can be stressful. Just set it in your mind to have fun and enjoy exploring your new home. Good luck and enjoy!!! To the active duty member, thank you for serving our country and to your spouse, thank you for your support as a military spouse.
