i am willing to bet it is the countour of your spine. if you sleep on your back u place pressure on your spine resulting in the pinching of nerves causing a sore neck and headaches. go to walmart and look in their pillow section and you can get the pillows with the material that takes the form of your back. it's real thick and when u push in on it it take the shape of your hand and it just stays there for a long time. also is you can purchase u what they refer to as an egg crate that is designed to lay on top of your mattress which give the same effect. i use this as a truck driver and i tell you it is the best sleep i have ever had since i have been driving trucks for 9 years. if you don't sleep on your back try this. hell try it even if u just want a good night's sleep period. lay on your side and place a pillow between our knees. this is what the physicians have pregnant women to do. when you place the pillows between your knees it helps to align the spine and it takes off tension and it is awesome. god bless you and hope you get some sleep.

I have this problem, too. The only thing I can suggest is getting good support from your bed and pillow. I'm too cheap to do that, so when I wake up with a sore neck, I just take a HOT shower with the water aimed right at my neck. That helps me a lot.

My fiance struggles with the same problem, so you are not alone! It's worse on him when he falls asleep on the couch. It really just comes and goes but it's annoying, I know! He started using the "therapatch". You could use a heating pad as well. As far as preventing the problem, I would just suggest seeing a sleep doctor or general physician. Good luck to you and I hope you wake up rested and with NO sore neck pain!

I would start by finding out the cause of your restless sleep. You may have some form of sleep apnea or restless leg syndrome. I suggest you consult a physician about a sleep study first. If you struggle for every breath, you could nash your teeth, grind your teeth, clench your jaws and many other things that could cause you to sleep in odd positions or stiffen up. If you can't breathe, you will not rest, and many health problems are connected to poor sleep, including your neck pain, back pain, jaw pain, headaches, chronic fatigue, immune system problems and the list goes on.

Nope, I sleep like a child! Though now and again, each as soon as in two months and even much less.. I wakeup 3 instances in the course of the night time. Also mostly I wont be competent to get to sleep (as a result of an examination or foremost day is the next day.. or simply reason espresso hehe) I do not snore, drool, toss or flip BUT if the man or woman napping subsequent to me thinks they've a danger of hogging the blanket, good I might be certain to battle for it again! Ahhh sleep
