That means a room enclosed in a lot of windows which acts as a sort of "war room".

Thats just showbiz.....
got a station out here that has the "severe weather center"....
the sun is shining ....the birds are chirping and Andy Wappler is updating us from the SEVERE WEATHER CENTER.
