The same reason all FOX games start :20, :25 minutes past the hour. They waste so much time on pre-game and commercials. It's all about money, everything is about money...

Because it takes 5 minutes to sing the national anthem and get through some of the other pre-game preliminaries.

Programming and consumerism. Radio gives an overview of the game. Television plays commercials. At the stadium they tell about the opening line-up and give stats.
