Like they say "any help is help non-the-less" even if one might think other wise. The problem is that sometimes some people might think that some advice is worth-less simply because it's bad, when the real problem is that they just don't want to listen to it. So yeah, i think we should always listen reguardless if what is being said, because if it doesn't help now it might in the future.

sometimes it is easier to give advice than to take your own advice
If your friends' advice has a positive influence on you, and it seems sound and reasonable then go for it.
