Basically..Does a baby feel the umbilical cord being cut off during birth and what not?

no, there are no nerves in the umblical cord so your baby wont feel anything. good luck!!

No, the baby doesn't feel anything when the cord is cut. It is just like getting your hair cut - no nerves means no pain.

that there are no nerves in the cord, so neither mother nor child can feel anything associated with the cord being cut.

No I don't think so. Mine never cried when they cut it. It's probably like the earlobe.
