Well, I Was under test(not even training!!!) without bein on the rolls of the Company maintaining the subsidiary and branch office books of accounts for a FULL SIX months WITHOUT ANY HONARARIUM even.I had to cycle about 10 miles daily one way and make my own arrangements for food , stay etc. Those were tough days and no entry level jobs are available and I belonged to the MOST FORWARD COMMUNITY by birth!!!!I joined the copmpany 4th day after WRITING my Final year B Com as just a month before I lost my father and had to get some job or the other at the earliest.
After sixmonths the Second in Command as Asst Accountant was SACKED and I was appointed in that post but I felt very very miserable and I could not digest such hire and fire and was always mortally afraid that the same fate may hang on my head any time like a Democles sword on the head.
CASTECISM was practised in the Company too and they preferred to have people og their own community even less educated so that they remain loyal and donot run after more green pasteurs elsewhere!!!!

RIGHT after college? Minimum wage at first. In this area, a college degree means NOTHING. I know a policeman with an art degree who is making a little over minimum wage as a policeman. Sad. After about a year I was makin $6.15 an hour, but then I stopped working for pay in order to take care of my children including homeschooling them. A much more rewarding job. I'm sorry that I wasted all that time in school now. Do I get paid? Not with money. But I am paid in so much more important ways now. And I have a husband that is decent enough to provide for us all (three children and hopefully more on the way.) He didn't go to college at all, but started his own business. We'll never be rich, but we're more than comfortable now.
Before investing the time and money in a college education, I'd really think about how far a college education will get you. In some places, it will get you nowhere. Take that into account.

i did not finish school however, my husband did. He grossed 45k once he found a good job. Right after he finish, he had a few odd jobs before he found a good paying job.
I did attend college for 3 semesters. I made about 16k @ my first job. It was horrible and I was miserable.

I took an entry level job for $15,000 back in 1995. Take the best entry level job you can find in your field of choice. Experience is worth MUCH more than your grades. Learn as much as you can in your new position. That's the best way for promotion.
