Good way to put it. People do not fall in love. People take the plunge because of passion and lust. Love takes a long time and comes gradually. Lust and passion do not last without becoming love.

No, marriage doesn't mean you fell in love. Why? Because many people get married and weren't truly in love in the first place. Thus, divorce wouldn't mean that you climbed out. I believe that people who divorce each other were never truly in love with each other in the first place. Why? Because true love lasts FOREVER -- there is no end to it. Two people who are truly in love with each other would never give up on each other.

Unfortunately love is not all you need to make a marriage work. You can love someone but not be able to live with the person. If you are not careful money problems, kids and past mistakes seem to chip away at the foundation til one morning you wake up and realize that you still love your spouse but that he or she is no longer the person you fell in love with and you changed, too. You grew apart so much that the gap between you is to far to be mended by love.

I don't think that exactly what happens, but I really like the analogy.
People divorce all the time, but not all divorced people stop loving each other. Often there are situations that one or the other just can't handle. Or, they just don't love each other, ENOUGH.
