She was one of those lost at Pearl Harbor Dec 7, 1941.

if you type "USS HELENA" into the search box at the top right corner of this page, you'll get links to the histories of the light cruiser, heavy cruiser and nuclear submarine of that name....none of which were sunk at Pearl Harbor.....or abducted by aliens!!
