they are family owned so they dont give out franchises to just anyone.....although i do think they would do very well if they went public.

In N Out has been around as long as I can remember and then some! (I'm 52) Though as far as I know, In 'N Out Burgers are only in CA, NV and AZ. I know they began in So Cal and migrated around the area. They were around before (and have outlasted) Ding Dong Burgers (in So Cal)
PS- I have old t-shirts from "I 'n O" that I've used for dusting that are at least 20 years old! YES, they sold T-shirts back then! (No, I didn't USE them 20 yrs. ago..they wore out and were delegated to the rag bag!)

They are where I live (CA), Nevada, and Arizona. That's it. Sorry, but McDonald's and Burger King can only dream of coming close to this place.

According to the website, www.in-n-out.com, In-N-Out restaurants are only in California (43 So. Cal., 5 Central, 39 Nor. Cal.), Nevada (6) and Arizona (10).
My in-laws from Oregon FLIPPED when we took them to the Hollywood In-N-Out. Loved them!!!

Nope, they are also in Nevada and in Salt Lake City. I agree they have much better burgers and their fries are out of this world.
