A great place to search is scam.com. If they aren't already discussing the merits of the opportunity you are researching, then you can always ask and there are highly experienced individuals that love to assist.
Whatever you do, don't spend any money on anything until you are satisfied that it is legitimate. Ask the Web site operators lots of questions - the ones that don't like to answer are often scammers.
Don't forget also that good scammers will answer your questions dishonestly, so it is always best to find others that you feel you can trust to validate the site for you.

if it is a pop up ad then scam. Anything that is offered for free, scam. If there is print so small you can't read it with a microscop, scam

If it sounds to good to be true it probably is to good to be true.If they promise you money for no effort(or a percentage) watch out.
