Because it is news that is more than two weeks old which is apparently the amount of time it takes for things to fade from memory.
And....Saddam was our dictator.
Manuel Noriega was our dictator also....
He learned the ins and outs of torture and repression from us.

Also they think they are smarter than everybody else...that people don't remember this stuff....

Look at the line of **** they feeding us about Iraq...
First it was WMD's.....
no WMD's
Then it was Iraqi freedom....
And we stood by while looters dismantled the infrastructure.
That was part of the plan.
Who ever heard of invading a country and then just standing by while the citizens went wild?
Now its ....lemme think...Oh yeah its Iraqi Democracy now.
They think we are chumps.
Maybe they will be humbled in 2008

All you liberals do is bash on Bush and try to come up with reasons for why he is horrible and a terrorist. Liberals blamed Bush for Hurricane Katrina, That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. JFK sent all those people to die at the Bay of Pigs. and he is considered and amazing president. The truth is, the president knows things you will never know, and he has been in meeings you will never be in, so stop thinking you know better, because you don't. Forget politics and start thinking about America and what is best for us. support the troops and the war, because you cant support the troops if you dont believe in the cause. regardless of why we are at war. it was the soldiers choice to sign up for the armed forces and it is there duty to fight, no matter what. that is what a soldier is. and saddam should be slaughtered for all the people he killed.

At the time, he was considered the lesser of two evils - the other one being Iran. This was after the whole debacle with the hostages in Iran when the great leader (cough, cough!) Jimmy Carter was President. Saddams crimes (gassing the Kurds, etc.) came largely AFTER the war with Iran, and after he invaded Kuwait in an attempt to gain back $$$ lost in the costly war with Iran. In world politics, you have to deal with unsavory people all the time. Remember - Russia/Stalin was our ally in WW II. He was as nasty as nasty gets. He had much more blood on his hands than Saddam. FDR was a Democrat and Stalin's ally. Does that mean anything to the LIBerals? Probably not.

Because at the time the major destabilizing force in the region was Iran. You might remember that Iran and Iraq fought a long and bloody war and we supplied arms to Iraq because Iran had many and more advanced ones from their time under the Shaw.

By the way....Jimmy Carter financed and armed Saddam too. WHY DON'T YOU MENTION THAT?

I'm not a political person, really, but even I was aware that two presidential administrations financed and armed Saddam Hussein and now are publicly condemning him in a "trial". All I can think is, "Hypocrites."

The geopolitical arena changes everyday.... but when people and events shape what was into a new situation.... friends become enemy's and new alliances get formed. Most of us conservatives try not to admit the few faults we have...lol.... then theres me.... I call it like I see it. But Carter and Clinton both pushed some money that way too.... but hard liners will always use the party talking points. This my friend is called politics.

correction, they didn't finance him, the iraqi oil fiananced him and the war, but they armed him and also sold him "the WMD"
I don't think it's only the conservatives who forget or ignore to mentions that, but the whole media. that is not sexy and attractive for general people to hear, they have to "make the news sexy" note make the news not report the news as they are suppose to do..

Why do Liberals condemn the assistance of enemies of a known tyrannical religious oligarchy who attacked, kidnapped and brutalized American citizens, while condoning the attack of known to be non-existant "chemical weapons" factories in the Sudan by Bill Clinton at a time of his political convenience? (my question is just as inane as yours, by the way).

Becasue conservatives normally blame what they don't support. Most conservatives are G-d fearing and religious, or morons (note i did not say all.) But heavens forbid that someone who reads the bible makes a mistake. **** BUSH.
