It is normal for your child to slow down. You are probably contracting a bit even if you don't feel it and there really isn't much room in there anymore. My son hardly moved at all the week before I had him. If you are concerned drink a glass or orange juice, soda or something sugary and lay down on your left side for 30 mins or so. You child should start to move after 15 mins or so. If you don't feel any movement after 30-45 mins call the doctor. My son wouldn't always move when I did that and even when i went to the doctors and they pumped me full of sugar he wouldn't move as much as they wanted right away - he just didn't have the room or the what too .. lol .. he was 9 1/2 lbs. and healthy as can be.

Never hesitate to call the doctor if you are nervous, they will probably tell you to do the same thing as I did.

CONGRATS!

Sometimes less movement can mean that she is getting ready for the birth. But do ask the doc., but before you do, make sure you pay attention on how much she moves within a hr and count them, this will give the doc enough info to tell you what you need to do. If possible try to not be induced, I know you really really want it to be over but your lil girl knows and your body knows when its ready. In all technically the baby could come 2 weeks after your due date and not really be late at all.

As the baby gets bigger the baby becomes less active as there is less room to wriggle about. As long as you still feel her, then that's a good sign.

You should talk to your doctor about induction and find out what's involved... anything you don't understand, make the doctor explain it again in simple terms.

I'm sure that your doctor and pregnancy team are keeping a closer eye on you given your history with the pre-eclampsia, as you would be considered high risk, although it doesn't necessarly mean you would experience it again.

Talk to your doctor and ask him/her to give you the once over to put your mind at rest. I'm sure all will be ok.

Good luck for the induction and birth and remember ask if you don't understand something.

Baby moving less often

When you first heard from your baby, way back in the fourth or fifth month, there was ample room in the uterus for acrobatics, and lots of kicking and punching. Now that his conditions are gtting a little cramped, his gymnastics are curtailed. In this uterine straitjacket, there is room for little more than turning, twisting, and wiggling. And once the head is firmly engaged in the pelvis, baby will be even less mobile. It's not important what kind of fetal movement you feel at this stafe, as long as yu note activity every day. If however, you feel no activity, or a sudden spurt of very paniicky activity, check with your practitioner.

As the kid gets bigger there is less room to move. Less space so the kid cant get momentem for the big kicks like when kid was smaller.

You should feel some movement though, rolls and turns instead of kicks and punches. If not go see Dr.

Drink a sprite and see if it helps.

it is totally normal that your baby isnt moving too much, she is getting bigger and it is hard to move around at this point. babies just sleep a lot when it is close to their due date. if you have any questions about what your doc is going to do, i would definately ask, that way you are prepared for what ever happens. good luck.

it is perfectly normal for activity to slow some as your due date nears the baby is most likely settling into the birth canal and getting ready for delivery, but i would check with my doc.

Honey, ask your doctor these questions. Since you are going to get answers here, please do yourself and your child a favor and don;t follow the advice. Its why doctors go to school, get degrees and make huge amounts of money, ask one of them.

you really need to see your doctor

you need to start doing fetal kick count days, did your OBGYN talk to you about this?

if they get below a certain level for a certain amount of time, it is time to worry

discuss this with your doctor
