Because they are loving caring wonderful parents. Girls are to trusting and naive at that age. There are to many perverts out there that prey on young girls. I don't see the problem of a girl going out on a date if there is an adult chaperone.

i am the mother of a preteen daughter, I won't let her date until she is 16, and that is only like hanging out with a coed group...13 is too young, honey! These kids are going through puberty, or just gotten out of puberty,raging hormones! She has her whole life in front of her, let her enjoy the single world! Let her dream! Let her find out all the world has to offer her! Kids are in such a rush to grow up nowadays, let me tell you and all the other preteens and teenagers out there...this is it, you only have one opportunity at being a kid, enjoy yourself. Too soon you'll be in the adult world, working to pay off debts, raising your children, and wandering where did the time go?? Hang in there, and you'll be glad you did!

Because it is a parents job to protect their children until they are old enough, mature enough and capable enough to protect themselves. These days 13 is a scary age and unfortunately there are a lot of sickos in the world.

because that is too young a child is still too immature to accept the responsibility of dating at that age whether it be a boy or a girl parents who do tend to end up wondering why their little girl got pregnant

they don't want nothing to happen to you. do you want to end up like me .this is the truth i'm telling you.this happened to me. when i was 11 i got raped and found out i was pregnant .i was so scared to tell my parents . so after my birthday my mom took me to the doctor to find out if , i was pregnant. she asked me so many times . and itold her no. everybody find out i was pregnant when i was 5 i the half months. i felt bad for the rest of my life and i still do. now , my baby has got older i'm keeping a good eye on her.your parents want the best for you. this is a true story i'm telling you. her dad is out know . he was suppose to do 10 years. but his wife got himout . that woman have issues. he also raped his step daughter and his wife didn't care . she took up for him alot and still do . but really ,your parents want the best from you like my parents did.

because i wouldnt let my daughter either at this age boys are nasty at age 13 and they have dirty minds too they are gross and grown men are worse! but im 11 what do i know?
