I thought i was ready to collect my things. Was planning to get them tomorrow but just thinking of it made me break down after a couple of wks w/o tears. ****! How can our heart feel and endure this much pain? Some consolation would help. Thanks.

I guess itwould depend on what you left there and is it worth going back after.
If it is I too suggest taking someone with you. As it is for your best interest to not go alone.
Remember when returning not to fight or argue over anything. Just a simple get your stuff and leave.
Make a phone call to him and let him know you want to come and get your things when woudl be a good day for you to come over. Leaving the time and date up to him, that away he can't say you caught him off guard or not answer the door.

Best of luck to you and think safe

If you have personal belongs at your ex's place, just simply go to your local law enforcement agency, usually the sheriffs office and explain the situation to them. When you know your ex will be home, make arrangements to go there and let the police know so they can be there when you go to get your belongings. This will prevent the ex from calling the law on you for trespassing or whatever and everything will remain civil. Good luck. Hope you get your stuff back!

if its over and you know its really over call a/s/a/p make arrangements to get them right away. the longer you wait the more anxiety you will have. you do not leave your things behind why would you want to? facing the person is the only way to know if you don't already. i just went thru this myself its not easy but has to be done. i hope and wish you the best

I let my ex keep my stuff, since I was starting over I didn't want the bad memory of having stuff that we may of shared together.
Beleive me, it was well worth not taking it with me and I am alot more happier without her, and the stuff.

need more info

what was the break-up like? are you angry? do you still have feelings for this guy? might want to get it over with. might just give him time to put it in boxes or whatever if it's better to avoid each other.

I waited to get my stuff... something was holding me back so I never did... then I ended up getting back with him...
I guess it was a sign, because if I wanted to get the hell out, I would've walked out with it, or sent someone else to go get it!!!

if you still have a key, go get your stuff when you know the ex won't be home. only take what's yours. you don't want the police knocking on your door accusing you of theft.

Go get all your things whenever you want, it's your right. You should take someone with you to help you get your things and also for support.
