Why? because of the pedophiles/predators? If that is your line of thinking then NO. They'll just find another way to get to their 'prey'. I think parents need to be more aware of what their children are doing on the internet. If you were asking for another reason please give more detail.

Depends on the context...
As a network issue, I'd say myspace is a resource-heavy site that would only bring lag to an IT-Level Administrator, making hard drive caches and bandwidth problems very big concerns, in fact as big as someone who downloads videos all day.
As an ethical issue, it's no worse than Chatrooms and Email regarding stalkers and predators, except that those who prey on others are aware that myspace is a hotspot for young people. Two years from now, it'll be something else, and it should be shutdown. The answer is diligence from parents and educators to protect their children in the first place, and bolstering the current efforts of the FBI and Online Task Forces from State and Local Law Enforcement groups everywhere to target and arrest these predators.

No. I understand that there are dangers associated with the misuse of myspace.com, but that doesn't mean everyone misuses it. Some people find it to be an excellent social networking tool.

While we are at it, why don't we just shut down the internet? I personally think no one under 18 should be on myspace. But I don't think it is any more dangerous than anything else on the internet. People just need to be better at parenting.

It's too big to get shut down but yeah it's not safe. There are a lot of sites like that though so there'd be no point.

Totally. It's full of stalkers and weridos and then again you know what.....I HAVE ONE! It's additcing and evil. But then again so are most blogs, I also have a livejournal and a friendster (wait..what IS a friendster?), and an Eblogger. But the blog that rules them all is myspace and it needs to go down.

No, they should just shut down the parents who let minor children jack around on the internet without supervision.

I wouldn't mind it disappearing. It's very tacky and has an awful interface.
I love Multiply. Much better control over who see's what. Very flexible for my needs.
I would never get a MySpace account.

No, they should not.
Why do you think they should?
... There are online predators everywhere. MSN Spaces has taken as many precautions as it can... Parents should be aware of their kids' actions and who they are allowing to visit their sites -- even if over 15.
