So I was listening to the radio before and all these lesbians were calling up eachother and just talking about how all they want is to be pleased downstairs and they said that's the only reason lesbians are lesbian because guys can't do it like girls. I was just wondering, are lesbians only lesbian for that or do they have romantic dates and intelligent conversations and stuff like that too? I've always thought it was like the same but now I'm not so sure...

Sarah,
There are lesbians who have romantic dates, intelligent conversations, own their homes, work, have children, members of the PTA -- many of us grow up and settle down with life partners. We have the same issues as any other couple -- irregardless of sexual orientation. Kids get in trouble at school -- we have teacher/parent meetings.

Those who are in it for the sex or just that in it for the sex. Unfortunately there are GLBT persons who think this is all fun and games -- and it's not. They haven't grown up yet.

Lesbians have normal romantic dates and decent conversations. Guess what (they're human too). Pardon the sarcasm there. It just shows that those that were on the radio station were probably lesbians by choice ... playing on the radio or what have you. Although, I don't agree with the lifestyle ... I must say that I have friends that are and they are just as normal as any other person in a romantic/intimate relationship. Besides, did you know that some lesbians do not enjoy oral s*x or do not engage in it at all? Surprising ...
Indeed!

I'm a lesbian. Before I'd figured that out, I had some relationships with men. Since coming out, I've been with a couple women. And all the relationships I've had focused on the RELATIONSHIP - not just the sex.

My partner and I were close friends before we were lovers, sharing the same interests and ideals, hobbies and ethics. After 25 years, this has not changed one iota. In fact, our friendship has gotten closer and the sex life has waned a bit from our wilder, younger days. Companionship is what makes a long term relationship--because if you haven't got more than sex to keep you together--it'll never last.

Gay, Bi, etc..... You are attracted to a certain kind of person or many kinds of people, it doesn't matter. Yes, I think the sexual aspect of my relationship is important and we both feel that way, that's why we talk and tell each other what feels good. We don't read minds, none of us is that good all the time. Take direction from your partner and GIVE them as well. See what happens......

As a lesbian I enjoy the conversations my girlfriend and I have , the relationship we have is based on friendship first and how we look at things. I love to hear her jokes, and her view on current events....ok yes the sex is incredible, but w/out it I would love her the same.

My partner is the person that I long to come home to at night. I love and adore her. She is my best friend and a fabulous lover. She is my companion and that bond is stronger than sex.
