Yes, it can take 2-3 weeks to fall off. Just keep putting alcohol on it each time you change his diaper. It will come off soon enough.

Within 10 to 21 days, the stump will dry up and drop off, leaving a small wound that may take a few days to heal.

It must be kept clean and dry. Keep baby's diaper folded below the stump so it's exposed to the air and not to urine (when the stump falls off, you may detect a little blood on the diaper, which is normal).

While waiting for the cord to heal, avoid tub baths until the area heals over completely, usually about 7 to 10 days after the stump falls off.

In warm weather, keep baby only in a diaper and t-shirt to let air circulate and aid the drying process. Avoid one-piece undershirts until the cord has fallen off.

Sometimes, when the umbilical stump takes a long time to heal, bits of lumpy flesh--a type of connective tissue--appear in the wound. It's not a cause for concern and will soon disappear.

within 1 to 3 weeks it should fall off but can take up to 6 weeks. During the time the cord is healing it should be kept as clean and as dry as possible. In order to keep the cord dry, sponge bathe your baby rather than submersing him in a tub of water. If the cord should become wet or soggy it can be gently dried with a hair dryer set on warm.

Yes this is normal. Keep putting alcohol on it. Make sure you don't get it wet. You are not suppose to submerge your baby in water until the umbilical cord has fallen off. Continue to sponge bath your baby.

It's perfectly normal. Don't overstress yourself over things, Dear.. it's ok. If it really concerns you, just ask his doctor.. but my daughter was just past three weeks old before hers dropped off completely. Just remember that every baby is different and never ever rely on what other mothers tell you about their babies as being the only right thing. Trust your instincts and your doctor.

Yes, it may take another week, or two...if it doesn't fall off by the time he is one month, consult your pediatrician and he will tell you what to do. Most of the time they come off by themselves. Just be sure you clean it will an alcoholed Q-tip every diaper change...not just on the outside, but down in it as well.

yes.... just make sure you are using plenty of rubbing alcohol on it, use a q tip and get some underneath/behind it....it should only be about a week longer at most if you use enough alcohol on it to dry it up.

Use alcohol on it at least 3 times a day.

***Try not to get water on it....all that will do is keep it moist and then it won't fall off.

Yes.. just make sure you keep cleaning it with alcohol using a
Q-TIP or something in that nature.. the alcohol is what dries it out and makes it fall off.
