1.) Attempt a normal, graceful shutdown or shutdown hard.
2.) Isolate the system from any network connection(s).
3.) Reconfigure the harddrive(s) in another system or the original
so it can be booted from a system on another harddrive with
full antivirus, spyware removal and diagnostic packages online.
4.) Copy all data files onto backup media and scan for virus,
spyware, worms and trojans.
5.) Red tag the media if any are found.
6.) Wipe and reload the system on the harddrive(s) and replace
applications and data with the last known good backup. This
system goes back on the network(s).

i guess the next question is how fast can you unplug the CAT5 cable at the back of your computer or switch of your wireless card?
won't panic as I keep a backup of my files and registry entries :D

do just that then pray that you have a antivirus, antispyware... DONT REBOOT. because if they deleted your startup files they wont affect your computer until you restart. run virus scan and clean.

Turn your computer off - this will break the connection. Have a break then get Norton Antivirus from Limewire.com. This will stop the hackers and get rid of the viruses.

Reboot IMEDIATELY and if that didn't stop it, I'd use my firewall to block all signals from the internet and do a scan with the antivirus and if it still was doing it I'd take the thing out for service.
