I had a baby 2 weeks ago and I'm trying to breastfeed. But I have compeletely lost my appetite. I can go all day on just liquids. I am very tired during the day. Is this normal after pregnancy? If not, what can I do?

If you have no urge to eat...drink plenty of fluids to keep your milk supply coming. Your baby needs all the nutrients that you can give her since your baby is still developing his/her immune system. If nothing works...think of all the favorite foods that you like, and request that a family member help you prepare or cook since you just had the baby. I really don't think that they would mind.

Not a lot of people notice this, but breastfeeding is just as draining on your body as being pregnant. It is absolutely normal for you to want lots of liquids...and it will be this way as long as you continue to breastfeed. It makes you very thirsty. You also need some nourishment for yourself as well as your baby. While breastfeeding you are supposed to obtain 2000 more calories a day than you would if you were not pregnant. Try your best to eat what you can even if you are not hungry. If this continues and you can not eat, consult your physician and he will give you a supplement.

Yes it's normal or I always did it after having a baby. You ate for 9 months... Now your body is getting back to normal and you aren't hungry. I always figured I was sick of eating.......lol
It's not healthy not to eat. With a 2 week old baby it's hard to stop and think about yourself. Try to buy foods you can grab and eat. Just force it down....
Yes it's normal to be real tired. your body has went thur alot and then tending to the baby at night.

A mother of 2, you need to eat to nourish your baby,, what you eat helps supply nutrients to your child... you want to keep protein's in you. if not please give the baby a bottle... that way at least the baby will not suffer because you don't want to eat. you need to rest when the baby does, your tired because you don't have any food in you, at-least have a protein drink, and continue your vitamins...
