Get a timer. When you sit down to the computer, start the timer. Then limit yourself.

Write down the time you start and the time you end so that you are always aware of how much time you're spending on the net.

Make a deal with yourself that you'll spend equal amounts of time doing some other activity for every minute that you spend on the net. Then stick to it!

If you think your spending to much time on the Internet set the amount of time you think you should be spending on it and get you a clock with an alarm. When the alarm goes of get up and push in your seat. Go find something to do. There is life outside the Internet and you know that because you had a life before the Internet. Call a friend. Go do something fun. It is addicting I know because this is what I had to do lol. Hope this helps.

Just get up and walk away from the PC. If you are getting lost in the net and coming too a few hours later. Set a clock for an hour....

I set my alarm every half hour to hour, when it goes off, I get up for at least an equal ammount of time as I spent on the web. during that time, I make it a point to stay on my feet except when I am eating. It helps.

Step away from the machine!
Set a time limit and set a timer/alarm to disconnect at that time. Have the will power to do it. Good luck.

Go to Internet Abuse Anonymous. Take it one day at a time. Get support from your peers within the group.

if you just got broadband, it's easy to get sucked in. Don't sweat it though, I'm sure the novelty will wear off soon.
