So i had an interview today and it all went great, the lady said I could start monday, but then I told her I had another interview today at a different company, and that I would go there and in the afternoon I would give her an answer. So then she asked me if i knew other persons that would be interested in the job so i gave her the names and phone numbers of 2 friends of mine. Turns out she called 1 of them and she interviewed with them today too. I went to the other place and i really didnt like it there so i decided to call the lady to tell her yes, but she wasnt available so i wrote an email to her and then called her in the afternoon. She told me that she had to fix some things before i could start but that she will call me tomorrow :( . And i just talked to my friend and turns out they said the same thing to her.... do u think i lost my chance at that company?? What can i do to have an advantage over my friend now?
Sorry this is too long.

I feel so stupid now.. but well this was my 1st interview ever and its not exactly for a job, more like an internship.. so well as long as i get another place, im happy if i got my friend that one.

No problem about the length; very in depth. Besides the point...Anyway, you should have left out that you had an interview later in the afternoon, but I don't think you lost your chance completely, because it seems like you are on the same level as your friend. Most likely, you will be picked because you had the interview first and you supplied the two other individuals, which could be placed in other jobs in the company, in other words, not your job of choice. That's all I can say, but good luck!

First, never give someone other leads for the job you're vying for! I'm sure you were trying to be helpful, but yes, you just might have talked yourself out of a job. The better response (for you) might be, "Hmm...let me think about that and I'll get back to you. I wouldn't want to give out my friends' information without their permission."
The best thing you can do now is to wait. You've expressed interest in the job. You can write a short note to your future (hopefully) boss and thank her for the time she spent interviewing, and that you are looking forward to starting with them soon.
Good luck.

yeah sounds like you may have blew it. i wouldn't tell a potential employer that i had an interview with another company and then turn around and give them the names of 2 other people, especially if those people were friends. It's your own fault, sorry.

You shouldn't have told her that you had another job interview, but if you were good she will definitely give you the job!
good luck with it!
