to the outside world I'm a practical person, but when I'm home I can afford to be a "sentimental person" and I like myself that way the best..

I am very sentimental, but make practical decisions. It's like comparing apples and oranges in my opinion.

I'm practical; I save things to reuse.
I'm also sentimental. I save things that mean a lot to me, for example, a plaque my daughter got at a garage sale for 5 cents. I just can't part with it.

I'd like to say I'm a good balance of the two... I'm probably more practical -- which may be the right balance.
