People are insane saying to pick up C. Blake(Cle-3B,OF), A. Rios(Tor-OF), or C. Patterson(Bal-OF). Those guys are long gone takin off the board. I know some people droped J. Pierre because of his slow start but he still gives you runs and SBs. Same with J. Willingham(Flo-C,OF), he's in a slump now but I just picked him up. W. Taveras or K. Lofton aren't bad pick-ups either.

Well Rios, Blake Patterson, and Dye would be great replacements, for Sheffield, but they are unlikely available in your league unless you trade for them. Now if you are not using your DL spot I would put Sheffield in the DL spot, b/c you can still hold on too him so if he does come back you'll still have him and if not by putting him there you can still pick up someone else. Ibanez would be great, b/c last year he got real hot in the second half, and he is probably is there on the WW, or you can get wilkerson, he's got some power, and scores a lot of runs, I know his average is garbage, but you have too take the good with the bad.

YES drop him. There was a guy up here a week ago complaining because he was on the can't cut list & out forever. Drop him, & IF he makes it back before the end & IF you think he'll be able to rpoduce, then he'll still be there waiting. I also got stuck dropping Matsui last month by the way.

Several good suggestions on pickups. Jones prob is avail. Don't like Patterson. At this point you haven't had Shef for a while so you prob know what cats you need to boast in & can select the player on that basis.

I agree with what steveb106 said. Sheffield is pretty much done for the year. Well fantasy year at least. Blake and Rios are having good years. So is Patterson. He hit it right on the nose with his explanation. If Jermaine Dye is available I'd go for him also.

Yes, he won't be back till September at least.

Look for:

(1) Casey Blake (OF - Cle)
(2) Alex Rios (OF - Tor)
(3) Corey Patterson (OF - Bal)

In that order, Blake and Rios are producing HRs, Rs, and RBIs with a high batting average. Patterson supplies Rs, RBIs, and Steals with a decent batting average.

if you need a replacement, jacque jones (chc), raul ibanez (sea), kenny lofton (la) or reggie sanders (kc) might net you some runs. rbi, power, and speed. aubrey huff (tampa bay) is back and healthy, maybe once he gets his stride he'll return to the player he was in 2004. gary matthews jr is starting to warm up in texas, too.

it sounds like it IS time to drop mr sheffield, he can have a seat right next to mr matsui who i parted ways with (painfully) in may. good luck!

ADD: rocco baldelli just got back too, maybe you could latch on to HIM.
