What's with all the USA-bashing? USA reached the quarter-finals of the last World Cup, reached the semi-finals of the first World Cup. Have qualified for the last 4 World Cup finals tournaments - a record many a country where football is more popular would envy.
I think I read somewhere that the first player to score a hat-trick in a WC Finals match was a USA player...
I think the worst player was Alex Ferguson. Oh yeah, he may have had some ball skills, but he's a fat git and I can't stand him.

There was this kid who tried out for my high school team who wanted to play goalkeeper. He was really fat and slow. The first day he showed up we ran 3 miles to begin training, then we went over to the fields where he just walked away. We never saw him again. My coach was imitating him and said, "you actually have to run in football, holy crap?" It was hilarious.
But in professional leagues, it would definitely be an American.
